I watched an Extreme Engineering episode tonight about building the cable car that goes from City Gate on Lantau to the Tian Tan Buddha. This is the same place we stayed last year. We never did take the cable car to the top so it was an eye-opener to see the scale of what they built. Pilgrims walk the entire way to the top but tourists like us usually take the cable car at a rate of 3000+ an hour. After watching the program I really wish we had done one or the other. Take a lesson - don't pass up an opportunity that may never come again.
