The Journey

Something about Dry Falls is very grounding for me. We stopped here every time we travelled from the Tri-Cities to Omak to see my dad when I was small. Since this trip was from Jane's sister's 50th birthday celebration in the Tri-Cities to Omak to see Dad for Father's Day it was appropriate to stop at the look out for a few minutes. The landscape is stark and brings back many memories.

Jimmy Takes Me to 311 or Where Are My Earplugs???

Not for 311 but for the opening band which was called the Expendables, who weren't so bad just LOUD!!! Ziggy Marley followed them and his group was great. I loved his rant on love! "Love, love-love-love, LOVE! Love. Love? Love! I don't have much more to say other than that". He did a couple of his father's songs too which was the icing on the cake.

Then 311 took the stage and wow. Just. Wow. I don't know what I was expecting but that wasn't it. They rocked. Hard. They're one of those groups that kind of fly under the radar as far as people knowing who they are but the people who do know them LOVE them (I'm now one of those people). It was an amazing show and next time they come to town I might have to be down on the floor instead of chilling in the seats.

Sometimes Work Feels Like Prison

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable." -- Helen Keller
