In Passing

We lost Jim's mom a couple weeks ago and it has reminded me how the dynamic changes when a person is not there to balance the family equation. It was the same when his dad passed. There's a shift that takes place as people redefine their place in the whole that is family. Sometimes for the better, sometimes not. The truth is that there is a physical and emotional hole left behind that can affect the loved ones left behind in ways that can't be foreseen. There can be no more explanations and no reconciliation other than what takes place in the heart. Time can be a healer but that is small comfort when the bereavement is still too fresh to imagine the idea. Until then I am holding them all in my heart and wishing them all peace.

My heartfelt sympathies to Jim and yourself. I share your sadness...
