Revisiting - Part Whatever...

We finally arrived at the home of our hosts. If you imagine French Country charm in your head this is what you will come up with - rustic and substantial with just the right amount of modern upgrades.

Our first morning there we journeyed to Lourdes to see the grotto and the basilica. Even in the off-season the faithful were there in what seemed like large numbers although I'm told in the high season you can barely make your way around. Take a look at the candle the folks below are carrying. They must have a very important prayer. I understand if you bring one that large you can reserve a spot for it ahead of time.

Mosaics at the basilica were stunning. It feels like it's been there forever but funny thing is that, at only a couple hundred years, this is a "new" structure compared to some of the truly ancient places we saw.
